Fall Village Wine Walk – Saturday, October 12, 2024

Stroll through The Village while enjoying wine from around the world just minutes from your Big Bear Lake vacation rental!  This merchant organized event is the perfect way to spend the weekend in the mountains.

Over 25 businesses and restaurants are pairing up to serve wine and food from 2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  This event has sold out in the past so get your tickets early!  A portion of the proceeds benefit the Big Bear Valley Education Trust.

Run For The Grizzlies – October 5, 2024

Since 1996, a family of Grizzly Bears has made Big Bear their home at the Alpine Zoo, thanks to the fundraising efforts and hard work by the Inland Empire Chapter of Harley Davidson.  The bears were re-located from Montana to keep both humans and the bears safe after a wild fire forced the mom and two cubs to begin foraging for food near wilderness camps and lodges.  Almost 20 years later the bears are still doing well and thriving here in Southern California.

Join the Friends of the Alpine Zoo, Chad’s Place and fellow motorcycle riders on the 20th Annual Run For The Grizzlies, a fun 7 stop poker run beginning at the Barlett Events Area in The Village from

• October 4: Check-in from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Start/Finish in The Village.
• October 5: Check-in from 6 AM to 8 AM at the Start/Finish in The Village.
• October 5: Grizzly 100K starts at 7 AM, followed by the 75K at 7:05 AM.
• October 5: Gran Fondo 50K starts at 7:45 AM, with the 30K starting at 8:15 AM.

PaddleFest (Rain Date) – August 31, 2024 – September 1, 2024

Kodiak 100 Ultra Marathon – Scheduled on October 11 – 12, 2024

The Kodiak 100 Ultra Marathon returns for the 3rd year to challenge even the most experienced trail and marathon runners who dare to take on the elevation.  The rocky terrain demands technical skills with steep climbs to 10,000 feet.  Runners are rewarded with amazing views as the course circles the entire Big Bear Valley.  Volunteers, aid stations and staff oversee the event and want everyone to succeed but few first timers cross the finish line.  It’s the ultimate ultra marathon event!  50 mile and 50K races are also available.  Get the details at www. kodiak100ultramarathon.com and book your Big Bear cabin rental for the race with us.
