ear absolutely loves hosting Spartan and we have a few Destination Big Bear employees that enjoy competing in the races as well. If you aren’t familiar with Big Bear Lake, Snow Summit is usually open most of the year as it is an extremely popular ski resort, but it is also highly regarded as a downhill mountain bike park in the spring and summer months. You can be sure that they have perfected their ability to create safe and fun obstacles for all Spartan competitors. The resort’s highest altitude is approximately 8,200 ft and there are certain races where you will make your way up to that point before making your way back down to the finish line.
