Bear Cupboards Market in the Village
Bear Cupboards Market is your one-stop-shop for gourmet groceries in the Village. They carry specialty, local goods that you won’t find anywhere else in Big Bear, like fresh baked sourdough, artisan coffee, natural wines, and raw honey. They truly have a little bit of everything! Besides the gourmet goods, you’ll find standard grocery items on their shelves: baking soda, pasta, a lemon, water, milk, eggs, butter, and anything else you could need! They truly are a high-quality convenience store.
Your experience shopping in their store will always be pleasant. They are constantly striving to bring healthy groceries to Big Bear! Bear Cupboards Market opened February 3rd, 2022. Their typical hours are Thursday – Sunday, but are hoping to expand to Mondays during the busy winter season. You can stay in touch with them on Instagram for the most updated hours information! Thursdays are when their baker usually arrives with fresh bread for the week. If they have produce, it will also be fresh on Thursdays. Because of the weather conditions, Big Bear is susceptible to, there may be weeks over winter storms that they don’t carry fresh bread nor fresh produce.

We spoke to the manager and this is what she has to say about Bear Cupboards Market:
My name is Taylor and I am the manager of Bear Cupboards Market. I’ve been operating the store for over a year now! Health is a top priority for me and I love being able to share that with the Big Bear community. The owners are a team of 3 friends from LA. 2 come from the restaurant/bar world, with one joining us from the jewelry world! They used their creative collaboration to come up with the cleverly named, Village market. They spend a lot of time in their Big Bear home and want to create something accessible and healthy for themselves and this community. They work hard to ensure we have healthy options available to us up here!
