County of San Bernardino- 45 Day Hold for Permits
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- Are they honoring permit applications that have been submitted prior to June 14th?
- Are they going to honor permits to people who entered escrow prior to June 14th?
- Are they going to honor permits to people who have been building homes or remodeling with the intention of renting?
- Are they going to allow permits to transfer to another management company?
COUNTY RESPONSE:
The 45 day “pause” began Tuesday, June 14th and here is what it means: Land Use Services will still accept new applications for STR permits, and they will be processed, however no permits will be issued before 45 days from June 14th.
Any permit submitted prior to the June 14th hearing will continue to be processed and issued.
Renewals will also process and be issued.
Anyone in escrow can submit an application but it would not be issued until the 45 day pause is over. I don’t think transferring to a new management company would affect anyone’s permit, so that isn’t an issue.
I recommend anyone who is confused by this to read the urgency ordinance for clarification, it can be found here: Interim Urgency Ordinance of San Bernardino County
