Fox US Open of MTB

Fox US OPEN of MTB/Mountain Biking is back on the West Coast this September and making an appearance in Big Bear Lake for an exciting open class event! Founded in 2003, Fox US OPEN of Mountain Biking strives to bring attention and excitement to the sport, offering the most challenging competition in the U.S. Come watch as top champions compete in Downhill Racing, Dual Slalom, Youth Racing and much more! The Best Whip contest is also back by popular demand and will take place in the middle of Snow Summit base. This year’s race festival will be held at Snow Summit Resort on September 23rd through the 26th and is a great opportunity for up-and-coming riders. Grab your mountain bike and hit the trails, racing against the pros for a chance at a massive cash prize, bragging rights and other great rewards. Registration begins in August so make sure to secure your spot. Do you have a child with a love for mountain bike racing? US OPEN of Mountain Biking kept the younger riders in mind as well, providing a chance for them to compete in the Next Gen Youth Downhill Event. Kids under 15 can participate in a racing experience like never before! A few different age categories are available to choose from and range from intermediate to expert racers.

Snow Summit Ski Resort is the host to many activities throughout the year. Enjoy hiking, Mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, ziplining, tubing, rock wall climbing or participate in one of the many events hosted by the Snow Summit Ski resort. Test your skills in the Spartan race, Fox US Open of Mountain Biking, enjoy the Above The Boom event and witness the fourth of July fireworks show from up near the top of the resort. With multiple dining options, you won’t need to go far to enjoy a great meal.

Winterpark

Located between Snow Summit and Bear Mountain and just 2 blocks from the shuttles, this cabin is the perfect location for year round adventure in Big Bear!  This spacious 4000 sqft cabin sits on a 1/2 acre lot and has plenty of sleeping options, a game room and luxury finishes that will make your vacation memorable. The open floor plan features cathedral ceilings with log accents, a river rock wood burning fireplace and plenty of windows to let in the natural light.  The living room has a wraparound sofa for comfortable seating in front of the large flat screen TV with cable. Stay connected with complimentary internet.  Mix up a drink at the wet bar, perfect for entertaining.  The kitchen has ample granite counter space for preparing a meal, gas stove top, double wall oven, dishwasher, microwave and small TV with cable access.  Down the hallway you will find a half bath, laundry room and the game room with pool table, Foosball table, pull-out sofa and TV for games.  For grilling on the propane barbecue and a breath of fresh mountain air, head out to the back yard and patio.  Kids will love running around the fenced back yard or playing in the snow.

Snow Summit Chalet

Snow Summit Chalet is a newly updated condo located steps away from the Snow Summit Resort. Gather in the family room to enjoy a nice fire in the gas fireplace, watch your favorite movie or stream your device on the large flatscreen TV. You will also enjoy the upgraded wifi for work during your time in the mountains. The newly updated kitchen offers newer appliances including a gas range/oven, fridge/freezer, a microwave, and dishwasher. Fully stocked with dishes, coffee mugs, silverware and every necessity of home, including plastic plates, cups, silverware and a travel highchair for our younger visitors. Upgraded countertops and cabinetry complete the kitchen and dining area. A standard coffee maker and Keurig are provided for guests’ use.  The dining area has a farmhouse style table which offers plenty of seating for your entire group and several can keep the cook company sitting at the spacious breakfast bar. Off the family room and dining room is a large outdoor patio with seating. Breathe in the crisp mountain air while visiting Big Bear or take a quiet walk through the San Bernardino National Park just behind the complex. The summertime offers ample trails for hiking and biking while the winter affords time for sledding and snowshoeing.

Summit Paradise

Step into your own mountain heaven at Summit Paradise!  Located within walking distance to Snow Summit, and just minutes from everything else Big Bear has to offer! This wonderful log cabin boasts mountain decor, comfortable furnishings, and plenty of space and amenities for your family weekend in the mountains.  The great room features real log cathedral ceilings.  The living room has a pull-out sofa, love seat, wood burning fireplace, and large flat screen TV with Roku, Hulu Live and DVD player.  The dining area has table and chairs for six with three additional seats at the kitchen bar.  Ample counter space makes meal prep a breeze, along with a dishwasher, gas range, microwave, and coffee pot. Down the hallway is a full bathroom, and the first bedroom with a king bed and TV with HULU.  Step out to the back yard for relaxing in the fresh air while you grill on the charcoal barbecue, eat outdoors at the picnic table, or enjoy a game of horseshoes.  The deck off the dining area is the perfect place to relax with a drink and catch up with old friends.

Find a Cabin

Spectating the event and award ceremonies is completely free to the public and great for adults and kids of all ages. Live music performances will also be provided for your entertainment. Tickets are required for all event activities including a climbing wall, zip lining, euro bungee, tubing and more. Tickets are also required for the bike park and are available for anyone who would like to bring a bike but not compete.
